SSO using Okta

Trendemon allows users to authenticate through Okta, enabling Single Sign-On (SSO) for easy access into the Trendemon platform. 


This guide will walk you through how to configure SAML authentication with Okta.


You’ll need to be an account administrator in your Okta organization to access the Admin Console and set up a SAML integration.


1. Get a Single sign-on URL and SP Entity ID from Trendemon’s CS Team 

2. Login to your Okta organization as an administrator and navigate to the Admin console by clicking Admin Button in the top-right corner


3. Go to Applications -> Applications-> Create App Integration

4. Select Type SAML 2.0 and Click “Next”

5. Enter a name for the application (it can be Trendemon or Trendemon Connect)

6. Fill the following values in the SAML Settings section (you will get them from Trendemon CS Team) and click next:


Single sign on URL in format: https://login.trendemon.com/login/callback?connection={APP_NAME}


Audience URI (SP Entity ID) in format:
urn:auth0:trendemon-prod:{APP_NAME}

7. Scroll down to the Attribute Statements section and create the following entry:

  • Name - email
  • Name format - basic
  • Value - user.email

8. Click “Next” and “Finish”. Your application is created.

 

9. Navigate here on the “Sign On” Tab:
Settings-> Sign om methods -> SAML 2.0 and click More details.

Copy Sign on URL and download Signing Certificate, and send it to Trendemon CS Team

10. Under Assignment Section -  assign People or Groups to the application:

11. Please share the following information with Trendemon’s CS Team:

  •  Sign on URL
  •  Signing Certificate

Once this info is shared, we will configure the SSO connection for your account.

 

12. To give users access to the Trendemon platform, you must create users inside the Trendemon Dashboard itself. Simply adding them to the Okta app will not provide access to our Dashboard.
